Rovinj is my place to unwind, relax and enjoy simple moments by the sea. I fell in love with pastel colours of its narrow houses, white wooden batana boats and century-old pines and cypresses facing the sea, islands and Italy. Rovinj is a place surrounded with many natural beauties and its proud to have some of the finest restorants and hotels on the Adriatic. I am sure it will be hard to resist it. Welcome to Rovinj!

ACCOMMODATION
Apollo Suite is all-white and comfortable apartment which reminds you of an artist loft with all amenities of a nice hotel. It is a white open space overlooking the old port of Rovinj filled with my paintings and ecclectic mix of antique and modern furniture.
It’s location is unique. In the early morning I can hear fishermen returning to the port. In the evening, I enjoy watching the ferry returning from Venice. This is the view you get from the suite… It feels like floating over a fishing port.
Apollo Suite is located in an old Austro-Hungarian building which in terms of size and ceiling height stands out from the fishermen’s houses that surrounds it. The entrance to the building is still paved with old white stone and the narrow wooden staircase leads to the apartment on the second floor. No elevator, but this is part of the old Rovinj charm. Old wooden floors are still intact because I wanted to keep the authenticity of this old building and give it the comfort of a modern apartment.

Living Room
This big open space comprising living area and the bedroom has four windows overlooking the old port and the small island of Sv. Katarina. I prefer a well stocked bar then a kichenette.

Walk in Closet
There are no cupboards in the living area just a walk-in closet with enough space for all your luggage.

Bathroom
Bathroom is simple and comfortable with the shower behind the wall covered with deep blue moroccan tiles and display of shelfs and corals. Antique head of Apollo is there to set the tone.

I hope you will enjoy in this unique atmosphere filled with history and art as much as I do.
The name of Apollo Suite is inspired with the name of the family Apollonio who used to live in the building. With plenty of sunshine and arts in the suite – it is really the place which will remind you of the Greek god of sun, arts and music.
Apollo Suite is very much the Apollo Gallery: a private space to enjoy art in the beautiful setting of Rovinj.

About Saša Šekoranja
The atmosphere of the Apollo Suite is defined with fascinating display of my paintings, drawings and ceramic plates throughout the space. Some of them were created specifically for this suite but many represent my older works which worked out wonderfully in this new setting. The whole concept was to create a dialogue between the past and the present of this place such as the installation of the 17th century wooden sculpture of Saint Euphemia in front of my canvas with hydrangea flowers.

I keep my flowers with me all the time…. For more than 30 years I am enchanted by the magic of flowers and its power trigger an overwhelming sense of joy. An experience at the Apollo Suite would not be complete without flower arrangements and inspirations that will surprise you at the arrival.

Apollo is just a short stroll away from my favourite caffe and terasse at Hotel Adriatic overlooking the tower clock on main square and the molo where you can catch a boat to your favourite beach on the islands of Sv. Katarina or Crveni Otok
